IGNITE! North West CIC works to:Develop activities which benefit the community and in particular (without limitation) to work with individuals, groups and organisations, particularly those in disadvantaged communities, promoting community cohesion and resilience and bringing about positive change through seeking to tackle worklessness, enabling community organising, promoting community leadership and empowerment, co-developing community projects, supporting fundraising and working with an emphasis on improving the personal development of children and youth.
Ignite! North West conduct community-based participatory research in an approach to research that is based on a commitment to sharing power and resources and working towards beneficial outcomes for all participants, especially ‘communities.’ By ‘communities’ we mean groups of people who share something in common – e.g. people living in a particular locality, or groups based on common identity. In order to work with communities it is important to have a set of ethics and principles that Ignite! North West adhere to, they are as follows:
